01 — Original photo backup for iPhone and iPad

Your originals, safely docked

Create portable, verifiable ZIP backups of original photos and videos. Save them on this device or an external drive, inspect their integrity, and restore supported items when needed.

ArchiveDock processes backup, restore, duplicate review, and integrity checks on the device. It does not require an ArchiveDock account or automatically upload your library to a developer server.

A backup utility with a clear, inspectable result

ArchiveDock follows the Photos library from scoped selection to a finished ZIP, while keeping storage, verification, restore, and limitations visible throughout the process.

01

Portable backup format

A completed backup is a standard ZIP or ZIP64 file containing copied resources, manifests, and reports. Common ZIP tools can open it on a computer.

02

Local-first by design

ArchiveDock does not require an ArchiveDock account and does not automatically upload your library or backup files to a developer-operated server. Backup, restore, duplicate review, and integrity checks run on the device.

External drives and Files

Lets you save a backup on this device or in a folder you select in Files, including a connected external drive.

04

Verification levels

A healthy result confirms the checks that were selected at that time; it cannot guarantee future storage reliability.

Verification
05

Restore from a backup

After the restore completes, review the result and verify the source backup if you still depend on it.

03 / Backup workflow

From Photos to a verified archive

Each stage has one job: define the scope, check availability, write the files, then verify the result before relying on it.

01

Set Scan Scope

Set the date range, media types, and album scope, then scan the library.

02

Check Original Files

Review the backup options and check whether original files are local or need to download from iCloud.

03

Create Backup Files

Copy original resources, create manifests and reports, calculate hashes, and package a backup.

04

Verification

Open the final verification step and confirm the backup is healthy before relying on it.

Integrity checks

Choose how deeply to verify

Quick is available for routine structure checks. Pro Lifetime adds spot checks and deeper checksum verification for higher-confidence review.

Quick

Quick verification checks the package structure and expected records.

Custom

PRO

Custom verification runs the Quick checks and lets Pro users confirm 5–10 items they expected the backup to contain. If fewer than five items are available, select all of them.

Standard

PRO

Standard verification checks the expected original files and the hashes recorded for the latest backup session.

Full

PRO

Full verification recalculates SHA-256 for all supported archived resources and can take significantly longer.

05 / Safety boundaries

Clear about what a backup can — and cannot — promise

Verification records what was checked at a point in time. It does not replace independent copies, appropriate storage protection, or reviewing important files yourself.

Protect completed ZIP files

The ZIP file is not password-encrypted. Anyone who obtains the file may be able to view its media and metadata, so store and share it with the same care as the original library.

Important limits

  • A successful run is not a promise that a storage device, file provider, or backup file can never fail.
  • iCloud originals may need to download before they can be copied, and ArchiveDock cannot inspect your iCloud storage quota.
  • Keep the originals until verification succeeds and maintain more than one independent copy of important data.
06 / Documents & support

The same product rules, in every supported language

Privacy, purchase, storage, sharing, restore, and verification explanations are aligned with the documents shipped inside the app.

Need help with a backup or restore?

Include the app version, iOS version, the step where the issue occurred, the displayed error, and whether the backup was on this device or an external drive. Avoid sending original media unless it is necessary and you choose to do so.
