1. License and permitted use
ArchiveDock grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, subject to Apple’s usage rules and applicable law.
You may use ArchiveDock only with photos, videos, storage locations, and backup files that you own or are authorized to access. You remain responsible for complying with copyright, privacy, export, and other laws that apply to your content.
2. Your control and responsibilities
- You choose the Photos permission, scan scope, save location, backup mode, restore options, verification level, and any share destination.
- You are responsible for reviewing the destination, available capacity, selected items, warnings, and final reports before proceeding.
- You must protect the device, external storage, backup files, and any credentials used by third-party file or cloud providers.
- Do not disconnect storage, force-quit the app, or modify in-progress work files while an operation is running.
3. Backups are not guaranteed recovery
ArchiveDock is a backup utility, not a guarantee against every form of data loss. Storage hardware can fail, files can be moved or corrupted, file providers can become unavailable, iCloud originals can fail to download, and operating-system behavior can change.
Do not delete or alter the only original copy merely because a backup operation finished. Verify the completed file, test access to important content, and keep multiple independent copies in separate locations.
4. Restore and duplicate detection
Restore support depends on the backup contents and the Photos APIs available on the device. Some metadata, album relationships, edits, or unsupported resource combinations may not be recreated exactly.
Suspected-duplicate detection is heuristic. It may miss duplicates or classify a distinct item as a possible duplicate. If you include suspected duplicates, the Photos library may contain repeated content. You are responsible for reviewing the restore summary and result.
5. Backup file confidentiality
Completed ArchiveDock ZIP files and technical reports may contain original media, filenames, dates, location metadata, album information, and other sensitive details. ArchiveDock stores file contents in ZIP without compression, and the ZIP is not password-encrypted.
Anyone with access to a backup may be able to inspect or copy its contents. Use device protection, encrypted storage where appropriate, careful sharing practices, and secure deletion procedures suitable for the sensitivity of your data.
6. Pro Lifetime purchase
Pro Lifetime is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase that unlocks the Pro features described on the purchase screen for the supported life of ArchiveDock. It is not a subscription and does not promise that the app, Apple platforms, third-party services, or every current feature will remain available forever.
The App Store processes payment, pricing, taxes, purchase history, restoration, and refunds under Apple’s terms. Entitlement normally follows the Apple Account used for the purchase. A refunded, revoked, fraudulent, or otherwise invalid transaction may no longer unlock Pro features.
Use Restore Purchases to ask the App Store to refresh an eligible purchase. ArchiveDock does not receive your payment-card details or Apple Account password.
7. Prohibited conduct
- Do not use ArchiveDock to access, copy, distribute, or restore content without authorization.
- Do not attempt to defeat security, entitlement checks, usage limits, or platform protections.
- Do not interfere with the app’s operation, distribute a modified version, or use the app in a way that violates applicable law or Apple’s terms.
- Restrictions on reverse engineering apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
8. Ownership and third-party components
ArchiveDock, its interface, documentation, and original software are protected by intellectual-property laws. You retain ownership of your photos, videos, backup files, and other content.
Apple frameworks and services are governed by Apple’s terms. Open-source components remain governed by their respective licenses.
9. Availability, changes, and termination
The app may be updated to improve safety, compatibility, or functionality. Features may change when required by Apple platform changes, law, security needs, or third-party dependencies.
You may stop using ArchiveDock at any time. The license may terminate if you materially violate these terms. Deleting the app removes its local container but does not automatically delete backup files stored in Files, on external drives, or with third-party providers.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ArchiveDock is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every file or device, or capable of recovering every item. Verification reports describe checks performed at a point in time and are not insurance, certification, or a promise of future integrity.
Nothing in this agreement excludes warranties, remedies, or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded in your country or region.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential losses, including lost media, lost metadata, lost profits, loss of access, storage-device failure, file-provider failure, or costs of recreating data, arising from use of or inability to use ArchiveDock.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited only to the extent allowed by applicable law. This limitation does not affect mandatory consumer protections or liability that cannot legally be limited.
12. Questions and updates
Questions about these terms can be sent through the App Support link on ArchiveDock’s App Store product page. The agreement may be updated when the app, law, or platform requirements change. A revised effective date will be shown here, and material changes will be communicated as required by law.
